Public Notaries Act 1997 – Section 17 – Repeal of Public Notaries Act 1985 No 6
Section 17 of the Public Notaries Act 1997 (NSW) simply asserts that: “[t]he Public Notaries Act 1985 is repealed.” This is a section which puts it beyond doubt that the provision of the old Act are no longer law and have no effect on the governance or administration of the practice of Notaries Public and their work in New South Wales. All of the provisions in the old Act have effectively been superseded by the introduction of the current Act.
